Thank you for visiting this page and taking this opportunity to learn more about me!
I am Yasmin Abdel Razek, a Registered (Licensed) Psychotherapist and a Registered Marriage & Family Therapist, practicing in downtown Toronto, Canada and Cairo, Egypt. With a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and a BA in Psychology, I am passionate about assisting you and your loved ones to overcome struggles by tapping into your unique strengths.

*Currently only offering online therapy.

Experience and Education:
I began my career working in psychiatric settings and private practices in Egypt and continued my education and clinical training in Canada and the U.S. Drawing on my relational education in multiple therapeutic models – along with training from world class couples therapy experts, such as Sue Johnson (founder of EFT Couples Therapy), Leslie Greenberg, and Terrence Real – I help couples, individuals, and families struggling with relationship issues, communication, life transitions, and other challenges. My background and experience both clinically and culturally has allowed me to effectively work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Professional Affiliations:
I am a licensed and a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Canadian Association for Marriage & Family Therapy (CAMFT).
I’m also a member of the International Centre for Excellency in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) and have completed extensive training and supervision in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Additionally, I’m certified and trained in Suicide First Aid with Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
Approach:
As a relational professional, I work gently and compassionately and use clinically tested and evidence-based interventions to enhance relationships and overcome personal obstacles. I help you gain a holistic self-knowledge that leads to a healthier mindset and overall balance. My modalities in therapy are tailored to each individual’s needs and I draw from my trainings in different therapeutic approaches. My practice is heavily based on an attachment perspective and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), helping provide insight and guide you to produce your desired change.
I aim to be emotionally present to you, collaborate with you to explore possibilities, and empower you to handle your stressors and relationship issues. I recognize that some of the issues clients bring to therapy may be tough to talk about, seemingly embarrassing, or even painful. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for all clients to talk about any concerns.
Therapy:
I can help individuals impacted by many issues, including depression, anxiety, grief, trust, life transitions, sex and intimacy, stress, low self-esteem, cultural and societal concerns, irritability and anger, education and career-related concerns, relationship conflict, trauma, and infidelity.
My greatest reward as a therapist is helping my clients explore and implement ways to make positive changes in their lives that will empower them and instill hope for the future.
I offer therapy services in English and Arabic.
